Crystal Healing

What is a Crystal?

The word ‘crystal’ is derived from the ancient Greek word ‘krustallos’. A crystal is a solid body with geometrically regular shape created as the earth formed and has metamorphosed as the planet changed. Crystals are the imprint of earth’s evolution which affected their properties and their effectiveness.

What is ‘Crystal Healing’?

Evidence of ‘Crystal Healing’ and therapy techniques was documented to have been used by the ancient Egyptians and a few other ancient civilizations.

This is the healing of the physical body and healing on the emotional, mental and spiritual level of a being (including plants and animals). Crystals are said to correspond to particular parts of the body and the organs and they can absorb, conserve, focus and emit energy especially on the electromagnetic waveband. They are said to heal due to the fact that the vibrations of certain crystals match exactly the vibrations of the different ‘chakras’ which are the ‘energy fields’ in a recipient’s body and to direct the flow of energy to a particular part of the body and heal it – therefore balancing a person’s energy. Ultimately, they are used to cleanse the person from bad or negative energy believed to cause an illness. Clearing out the bad energy alleviates the physical ailment. Crystals realign subtle energies and dissolve ‘dis-ease’ by balancing the person’s ‘chakras’. Crystals can be worn, placed on certain spots on the body or next to a person’s bed as they sleep.

‘Crystal Healing’ for whom?

This healing method is beneficial for everybody. Most physical conditions improve including pain, anxiety, arthritis, insomnia, lethargy, and stress. Crystal Healing can also enhance the effects of conventional medical treatment. This therapy is of benefit also for the healthy as it maintains the balance and harmony of body and mind. Crystal healing is relaxing, calming and can help the recipient to deal more effectively with the stress of everyday life. Contra-indications: Epilepsy, Pacemaker, certain mental conditions.

What is the treatment like?

The healing is carried out whilst the recipient is fully clothed and lies down (on the back or stomach) on a treatment couch and is relaxed. Seven crystals are placed on the corresponding areas of the body – the ‘chakras’ which are in relation to an illness or ‘dis-ease’. Additional appropriate crystals might be chosen by the practitioner and placed on or around the recipient’s body to further enhance the natural healing process. If a stone rolls to a different position it should be left where it is. It is likely the body is moving it where the crystal needs to be or removes a crystal that is not needed. Some of the crystals might feel very heavy – like they are ‘sinking’ into the recipients skin. Others will be so light that they are hardly noticeable. Some crystals might feel very cold, others extremely warm or even ‘electric’.

After a treatment

Clients often report a feeling of ‘lightness’ in body and mind after a treatment. Therefore we suggest the recipient takes some time to enjoy the deep state of relaxation and to slowly come back to full awareness. (Some people might be too relaxed to drive for example until about 20 minutes after the treatment.)

After the session the body finds it easier to flush out any ‘waste’. The recipient will gain maximum benefit from the treatment if resting afterwards and drinking plenty of water – being aware of the detoxifying effect for about 48 hours after the treatment.

Chakra Balancing

What is a Chakra?

Chakras are the energy centres of the body. The word ‘chakra’ derives from the Sanskrit (an ancient Indian language of Hinduism and the Vedas) and literally means ‘spinning wheel’ or ‘sphere of energy’. It is traditionally believed there are thousands of chakra points in the human body. However, there are seven significant chakra points. These run from the pubic area up to the crown of the head and back down (in the middle of the body) to the coccyx.

Chakra Balancing can be traced back for centuries; it is said that ancient civilisations (e.g. Native American Indians and Mayans) healed with crystals.

Chakra Balancing for whom?

This healing method is beneficial for everybody but it especially helps people with physical conditions including pain, anxiety, arthritis, insomnia, lethargy, and stress. Chakra Balancing can enhance the effects of conventional medical treatment. This therapy is also of benefit for the healthy as it maintains the balance and harmony of body and mind. Because it is very relaxing and calming, it can help the recipient to deal more effectively with the stress of everyday life.

Although this therapy is safe for most people (young and old), there are a few people who should not receive such treatment.

Contra indications are: epilepsy, pacemaker and certain mental conditions.

What is the treatment like?

For the Chakra Balancing, crystals are placed on the recipient’s body, mainly on the chakras. According to this teaching, the seven basic energy centres in the body have a colour associated with them – the colours of the rainbow. For example, green is the colour of the heart chakra. Some crystal healers position the corresponding coloured crystals on the person to enhance the flow of energy.

Within each crystal there is energy – resonance and vibration – that can be utilised. The therapist will work with these varying energies, choosing the crystals that will correct chakra imbalances. Crystals are said to direct the flow of energy to the person in a particular part of the body. Ultimately, they are used to cleanse the person from bad or negative energy believed to cause an illness. Clearing out the bad energy alleviates the symptoms and helps to cure the physical ailment. Crystals are used for physical, mental, emotional and spiritual healing.

Visualisation can also be a powerful tool for balancing chakras, as thought is energy – the therapist might suggest evocative locations to stimulate positive energies in the client. In addition, positive affirmations spoken by the therapist during treatment can bring about good feelings. The practitioner might choose to use all methods during the session.
