Metamorphic Technique

What is The Metamorphic Technique?

This is a simple approach to healing and personal development. Due to limiting beliefs that we hold about ourselves and our lives, we tend to get ourselves caught in particular patterns that keep us from fully realising that potential.
These patterns can show up in various ways – physical, mental, emotional problems, limiting attitudes or repeating patterns of behaviour. Beneath these external symptoms are corresponding patterns of energy.
Metamorphic Technique is neither a therapy nor a treatment as such as it is not concerned with addressing specific symptoms or problems. There is no need for practitioners to know about your personal or medical history. The Technique is gentle, non-invasive and completely safe. It can be used on its own or alongside conventional medicine or alternative complementary therapies.

The History and Origin of the Metamorphic Technique:

The Technique was developed by Robert St. John, a British naturopath and reflexologist during the 1960s. He had become dissatisfied with his general naturopathic practice because he had come to recognise that that we create our own stresses, which then cause our illnesses. His current methods of treatment did nothing to alter the underlying patterns of internal stresses and therefore the results he achieved were temporary.
He realised the reflexology charts varied greatly and therefore created his own charts of the reflex point on the feet. During his research St. John observed psychological effect of his treatments on his patients.
When working with the Metamorphic Technique a practitioner works on the time structure during which all characteristics of a person were primarily established.

How does the Metamorphic Technique work?

It is now widely recognised that our energy can be held in particular patterns. Every cell that makes up our bodies and minds holds memories of our experiences – not only from our childhood – but going right back through our time in the womb to the moment we were conceived. When an experience affects us strongly, the thoughts, emotions and beliefs connected to that memory can plant ‘seeds’ (energy patterns). In a sense, these hold us in the past. These ‘seeds’ grow and can express themselves in a variety of ways, such as physical or mental illness, emotional problems, limiting attitudes and beliefs, repeating patterns of behaviour and generally feeling ‘stuck’.
The Metamorphic Technique sees all mental, emotional, physical and behavioural issues and symptoms or expressions of energy patterns. By using a light touch to the spinal reflex points on the feet, hands and head, the metamorphic practitioner acts as a catalyst. The life force, guided by the person’s innate intelligence will dig out the roots and then bring about whatever transformations of the energy patterns are needed. This enables the recipient of this technique to naturally shift those patterns that no longer serve them. The energy is released, freeing the person up from past influences and allowing to ‘let go’ and move forward. While the theory can initially seem quite difficult to grasp, it is not necessary to understand it to benefit. No belief is required!
Sometimes therapists can only ‘cut back the weeds’ but the roots remain embedded and will ‘grow back’.

What happens during the time when Metamorphic Technique is applied?

The practitioner uses a light touch on the feet, hands and head. The recipient can be in either a seated position in a chair or lying on a couch. Some people like to talk during this procedure, others like to experience this in silence.
Recipients might feel deeply relaxed or emotional etc. during and after the session.
The session lasts usually one hour.

What happens afterwards?

It is difficult to say what will happen after the session as everybody is unique and energises or relaxes differently. As energy shifts, people may sometimes re-experience some past symptoms or some emotional upset over a day or two.
In some cases changes are immediately noticeable while in others they are more slow and gradually. However, as a recipient you should feel more energized and be more confident and easily break with old habits and patterns. People often also report significant changes in the way they perceive life and how they feel about themselves.

It is difficult to say how many treatments a person would need as everybody is different and responds different to changes / triggers.
Metamorphic Technique should be started on its own in order to not interfere with other therapies.
